The Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series story is one of incredible transformation that began in 2015. That year we were honored to be selected as one of just 15 communities across the country to receive a prestigious grant from the Levitt Foundation. This grant allowed us to launch an unforgettable 10-datemusic series right here in the heart of downtown Middlesboro, in the hills of central Appalachia.
Inspired by Levitt’s powerful mission to turn neglected spaces into vibrant hubs of art and culture, Year 1 began with a group of passionate volunteers who transformed a vacant gravel lot into a cozy music venue complete with a grassy lawn and a makeshift stage. From that humble beginning, our community rallied together—thanks to the unwavering support of volunteers, sponsors, and partner organizations—to elevate the venue to new heights.
With the construction of a professional grade performance stage, a stunning wall mural by a renowned local artist and countless other venue upgrades, the Levitt AMP Middlesboro venue is now a premier live music destination in the region.
Featuring performances from a diverse range of artists – from multi-Grammy winners to up-and-coming regional talents – the Levitt AMP music series has brought new life to downtown Middlesboro, providing a major boost for new and existing small businesses.
